Things to put in a baby book…?
I love scrapbooking so instead of buying a baby book I just want some ideas of what to put in it… Thanks
in my babies scrapbooks i went onto websites and looked up their name meanings and printed them off, i put their birth cards in it, birth announcements, bracelets, photos of them getting their footprints done, cards people gave me,u/s pics with my own ideas wrote out on the side of them, i even kept my hospital menus! i kept a list of all their firsts (smile, tooth, bottle, bath, umbilical cord fell off, etc)

Pictures of baby shower, in the delivery room and of the newborn baby. Birth certificate. Umbilical cord. Hospital bracelet. Foot prints. Gifts received list. List of foods that made you sick during your pregnancy. Babies first hair cut locket. 1st tooth lost. Newspaper clipping the day baby was born. Have Fun!

I'm doing 2 books.
One for her first year… all the firsts… hospital pics, family, holiday layouts, lots of journaling describing how baby was at that particular age, any cute stories - of course some that will embarrass him/her as teenagers are great!!
Then another book of "firsts, beyond the first year" which include her first cup of whole milk, first haircut, first steps, first day as a weaned toddler, first panties, first trip to the beach, first time she drew a smilie face, first bubble w/ gum, first bike, first time she wrote her name, first soccer game,… later we'll add first day of school, first dance recital, first date…

Of course what day he or she was born. When you found out you were pregnant, what you thought, what daddy though, who were the first people you told. First doctors apt. first u/s pics and dates, possible names you are thinking of for both sexes, write a message from mommy to baby and from daddy to baby. What happened while you were in labor, what day you checked into the hospital… every TINY detail that you go through your WHOLE pregnancy. What the number 1 song is, how much gas costs, how much milk costs, who the president is, how much a stamp costs (these are all things that were in my daughters baby book.) When I found out I was pregnant I started a pregancy journal about things that were happening in my pregnancy.
I have put EVERYTHING in her baby book, I saved her umbillical cord stump (I know its kind of gross) saved her crib card from the hospital, these little gold duck sticker things they put on her to measure her h/b after she was born, the bandages to her shots, the label from her first baby food, the label from her formula, hospital braclets for her, me and the one her dad got so he could go pick her up from the nursery.
I got a wooden chest from the arts and crafts store and burned her name into it and stained it and kept all kinds of stuff from her first year. The banner from the baby shower, the banner from when my friend decorated my house after she was born, deflated balloons, her outfit she came home in, the hat she wore in the hospital, etc etc… I am a sucker for memories

family tree; visitors on when they were born and their gifts;babies first attempts to crawl, walk, eating solids, foot prints, first drawings, first days at school;you should do both a scrapbook and baby book, because trhe baby books give so much history on the childs ancestory and milestones
