Scrapbooking Baby

Do you shop for baby presents/supplies online???

I'm thinking about starting a small internet business mainly containing handmade(by me) baby items, baby shower items and gifts for mommys and possibly scrapbooking items and i really need to know what the demand is for those items. babies are constantly entering the world so i know there is a need but i need to know if people will shop online. i eventually want to start selling at craft shows and if all works out then maybe open a shop. any advice for me???? i'd really appreciate it. thanks

if you are selling handmade items, have you thought about selling on http://www.etsy.com/
I have bought a couple cute handmade items there. Whenever I need a gift for a new baby, I always look there first.
This may be a good way to start, before opening an online store.
Good luck!!
Oh, what kind of things do you make???

I definitely shop online and know a lot of people that do…just make sure that it's something that people really want to buy; there is a lot of competition. Unless you have something new and unique I would be concerned that it might not work out too well, but it's worth a shot!

I love shopping online. The only thing that stops me sometimes is high shipping costs. I live in Canada and most companies are in the US.
I have purchased cloth diapers on-line, as well as baby and maternity clothes (E-bay), and baby skin products (there is a great all-natural company in Huntsville, ON that makes bath products for adults and babies), sippy cups and glass baby bottles.

I do buy baby gifts/supplies on line. Make sure you supply a gift receipt for those people who want to return gifts.
I really prefer it if the shipping and handling was so high, I will usually end up buying something is there is free shipping & handling fees (just something to think about).

It is a hard market, I would try selling at craft shows and see how well your product does.

    Good luck!

I do if the item is worth the money I will have to pay in shipping too. Basically I won't for the little stuff because sometimes you have to pay just as much in shipping as you do for the actual item (often the case with scrapbooking item). I will buy online if an item is especially a one of a kind type item. Have you thought about selling on ebay too?

I prefer to shop at the store for baby presents. I'm a bargain hunter and can usually find great deals. Plus, I don't like to pay for shipping. On occasion I do shop online at Kohl's, Target, and Walmart but rarely at a new "unknown" establishment.
