Putting positive pregnancy test in baby's scrapbook?
I was planning on doing this, but my mom thinks it is disgusting. She says she can't believe I didn't throw it in the trash right away. If I put the test in a plastic baggie, it really isn't that gross, right? Please share your opinions about this….Thanks.
I've kept the 3 from my 3.5 year old and i've kept the 3 i took with this pregnancy (due on christmas eve)
If it's a normal test, you can normally open them up and get the strip out of there.. then you don't have this big bulky test, and no pee.
(if the pee part is attached you can cut it off)
The digital tests are pretty neat to pop open. you got the 2 lines, and no pee.
I don't think it's gross at all.. most people i know have either kept it for the babybook or just kept it period. Mine from 4 years ago still look the same as they did when i took them.

Best idea is to take a picture of it.. I did this with my first.. and after time.. maybe a month or less.. the line will disappear and will look like you had a negative test… = )

I saved mine. Some people think it's gross, but I like to cherish the memory of the very first moment I found out I was pregnant.

My friend did this but I wouldn't most people are not going to want to come across that when they are looking at your baby book.

To be honest, I kept my positive tests!
If you REALLY want to take that path, I think the more sanitary route would be to snap the test open and remove the actual strip with the result on it. You could stick that in the scrapbook or photo album. I hope I helped!

I didn't put it in his scrapbook, but I did save my positive test. I put the cover on the peed end, washed it, and then put it in a plastic baggie. Its in my memory box now.
I know for a while there that they were selling pregnancy tests that came with little frames, maybe you could get one of those and just use the frame?

Take a picture of it and put that in the baby book. Much less gross.

What is so gross about it, goss I still have both my positive tests and I intend to keep them. Why not, this is one of the only times in your life you will have gotten one for the first time and well to be honest its not as though anyone other then close family and friends will be looking at the baby book to be offended by it.
If it makes you feel better, get a pregnancy journal something i guess would not be for everyone to look at so a bit more personal and not so offending for your mum maybe.
best of luck, hey and keep that keepsake its a beautiful thing.

I kept mine and my son is 5 and a half now. But I didn't put it in his scrapbook, I got a box for my baby shower that was made to put his pic on the front and when you open it there are drawers and compartments on the inside for all there first things. I kept my test the little clip from his umbellical cord. A diaper, a bottle his first out fit and so on. It is perfectly fine

haha! That's so cool! Well, I took like 10 HPT's. and they were all positive. I took a pic of all of them and I have that in his scrapbook.
I feel its the same. You want to remember what that HPT looked like. Every time I looked at that pic, I laugh (because I'm totally psycho for taking 10 HPT's) and remember the feeling of cranking one out after another!

I don't think so. I eat the placenta after the baby is born. We belong to a group that eats the placentas of the other group members as well. I think putting a little pee stick in the scrapbook is totally fine. We put the broken condom in the scrapbook and the resulting lawsuit paid for all the medical expenses for the baby!

I still have mine and I don't see anything wrong with it. It's not as though anyone will be handling it, is it???
The only problem is with time they fade and you may end up with a empty test stuck to the front of your album.

I agree with your mom, that is gross. I took a picture of mine and that worked.

i'm doing it with mine. i have it in a plastic bag also and it should be safe to rinse it off lightly… if you change your mind the least you could do is take a picture of it

They get gross and yellow and the result fades over time anyway. Cute idea but I don't think it'll keep well. (Plus nobody really wants to flip a page they know your pee is on, baggie or not.) Take a good picture of it and put the picture in the scrapbook.

Aw, my mom was the same way.
I was going to keep mine foreverr..
But my mom threw it away!
Without even asking me.
She thought it was gross.. I was sooo mad.
You should def keep it.
I'd put it in there

I still have mine, 4 years later and it shows positive. I know of many women who keep them for superstitious reasons. And most tests have caps to cover up the peed-on part, so I hardly think it's gross.
Taking a picture might be easier to fit into the scrapbook.
I saved my second baby's umbilical cord - in a spiral - and made a placental print that looked like a stingray. I wonder what your mom thinks of that?

It is covered in urine! It will start smelling and molding. Why don't you just take a picture?

I think it's all totally up to you!
If you kept it so far, if you think that it's nice thing to keep and remember - then include it into your scrapbook!

I like the idea of taking a photo — that seems clean. But really, put it in the book if you want to. Some people are just more squeamish than others and you can tell them to skip that page when they look.
Congrats on having positive peesticks!
