do you still have your gift bags from the baby shower?? if so, use them and cut out pics from the bags. you can also cut out squares for the border and stuff. their is all kinds of things you can use from a gift bag. also put the mommy, daddy, and baby's ID bracelet from the hospital in the scrapbook. try to use as much "real items" as you can. that makes it really special.

good luck!!
References :
I'm a big scrapbooker;

Get a square shaped book - I find these are better. Get one with the clear pages that you slip paper into. It protects the pictures and decorations. I'll assume you want stereotypical girlyness (I did!)

Get pink paper; patterns, textured, different shades. By stickers! They make everything more fun. You can even get 3D stickers, very cool. Put the birth announcement on the very first page, decorated around it with stickers.

Put the baby's name, meaning, etc. above the announcement. Write it out on a piece of plain paper and glue it onto the patterned paper.

You can mat the announcement (glue it onto a piece of paper, then glue the whole thing on the base paper) You can mat anything - it makes it look really nice!

Make the family tree on a spread of two pages, and draw a tree! In the branches, write your information.

Baby's bedroom; draw a diagram and take a few pictures. On the opposite page, take pictures or use stickers for the book and toy.

Halloween - if you have enough pictures, make a two page spread of it. Plenty of pictures - include candy wrappers, it's cute!

Christening - def. two or more page spread. Plenty of pictures, the program, everything!

Messages from family and friends - two page spread. Decorate with stickers, as straight words can be boring.

Message from parents; next page, accompanied with a picture of the three of you.

Things to Consider Buying:
-Square scrapbook
-patterned, textured, solid paper (pinks)
-Stickers (3D also!)
-glitter pens
-nice pen to write captions
-scissors that cut neat borders!

LOTS OF PICTURES!! Email me if you want - I love to scrapbook!
References :
Boy or girl? Ideas for messages from family and friends: if it's a boy, little airplanes with banners behind them and your family can write messages on them. If a girl, maybe pink ribbons that could be written on.
